ART MORIN
Arthur L. Morin AKA Art
DOB Nov 26, 1949
Bridgeport, CT
As mentioned above I was
born and raised in Bridgeport, CT. Educated for 12 years in a Parochial
school in the same city, which would indicate I was of Catholic faith.
Left that industrial city, when I received that all to familiar notice
in 1969, which ordered me to report to the Armed Forces Entrance &
Examination Station AFEES in New haven, CT. There was not getting out of
serving for a individual like me. Entered the Army in 1969 and reported
to Ft. Dix, NY for basic then on to Ft. Knox for Advanced Individual
Training AIT, as a clerk typist MOS 71A/B. Had the opportunity of
visiting areas of the world that I only read about in newspapers,
Vietnam. Was stationed in the most protected area of the country which
was Long Bein. Remained there for close to a year and returned to the
world. Understand, just because I was a REMF does not say I didn't see
some things I later on in life cherished, like viewing the remains
(alive) of a military man with no legs being rolled into the 21st Evac
Hospital. While back in the world I completed my two year hitch with the
Army at Ft. Devens, MA. Left the Army in 1971 and returned to the
civilian arena and held numerous positions. However, in 1975 I decided
that changing jobs was not getting me any place and decided to visit the
local Army Recruiter in Bridgeport, CT. Re-entered the Army in Dec 1975
and was treated lower than Whale Excrement. I might add that I didn't
re-enter as a 71A/B but as an Armor Crew member 11E. Learned how to
move, shout and communicate in a tank M60A1 then in a M551 Sheridan and
later in an Abrahams. Visited many states during my more than twenty
years of service and also had the unique opportunity of visiting Europe
for five years. Retired as a Sergeant First Class SFC, E7 in 1993. Since
that time I worked only one position in the civilian community but had
two different businesses of my own. The last business was doing great up
until the time I suffered through a Brain Aneurysm and lived (guess you
can tell I lived if I am writing this :-))). That wasn't too bad but
suffering through another Brain Aneurysm a year later took its tool on
the body and mind, especially when both issues I was treated mistreated
at a federal agency. Today, I just hang around messing with members of
Congress and the Senate to do us veterans right.
My primary goal in life is
to work and get the inept, corrupt, crumbling and antiquated system of
the Veterans Administration revamped. Secondly, I desire to bring
justice, and make individuals adhere to the law as it pertains to the
Americans with Disability Act ADA. Folks this is the law and its a
federal law so make it happen.
